II EACh Arbitral Moot

The Selection Round of the National Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition (EACh Arbitral Moot) took place in Kyiv.

The National Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition (EACh Arbitral Moot) is the annually held international moot court competition owned by the European Arbitration Chamber (EACh), hosted at the Kyiv Institute of International Relations and supported by Cai & Lenard Law firm.

The primary goal of the EACh Arbitral Moot is to foster the study of international commercial law. It was instituted to encourage greater participation from Ukrainian universities teams in mooting and to promote the study and practice of international commercial arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application to a concrete problem (mostly related to sale of goods).

Structure of the Moot:

  • The competition is entirely held in the English language.
  • Competitor teams represent both the Complainant and Respondent parties to the Case by presenting oral submissions in front of an arbitral panel.
  • The competition is divided into three rounds: the Selection Round, the Semifinal and the Grand Final.
  • EACh publishes the allocation, date and venue of each Round.

Important Dates:

  • Team Registration – November
  • Written Submission Deadline – January
  • Selection Round – between 10 February and 10 March
  • Semifinal - between 10 and 20 March
  • Final Round – usually the day after the Semifinal
